?SMS is a comprehensive academic journal of Management Sciences sponsored by the Shanghai Management Science Association (SMSA).

?“SMS” was founded in November 1979, an every-other-monthly publication. This Journal was created in cooperation with business schools of Shanghai Universities, with a resolution passed by "The Joint Deans’ Meeting of Shanghai Universities’ Business Schools" ，a meeting held by the Shanghai Management Science Association (SMSA). As a Management Science Academic journal, associated research groups include: Antai School of Economics & Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, School of Economics & Management, Tongji University, School of international business administration, Shanghai International Studies University, China Europe International Business School, and all the participating business schools of universities in Shanghai.

?SMS is the only non-profit academic management journal in Shanghai. Standing on the changes brought about by the globalization process, SMS explores and creates Shanghai-style management with more general Chinese features and conducts various management innovation researches so as to better "Connect with the real world thus serving the whole country and its partners ”.

?As business schools of various colleges and universities in Shanghai have supported and hosted the SMS journal, the purpose, the technicality, innovation and normativeness of the journal have been greatly enhanced. Achievements are obtained and a strong academic influence is expanding. In June 2007, it officially entered the core journals of Chinese scientific papers’ statistical source, and it is also one of the source journals of Chinese scientific citation database. SMS has become a category B journal, generally recognized by colleges and universities in Shanghai now.
